I have been passionate about the beauty industry for as long as I can remember. Ask my granny and aunt and they'll pull out pictures of the styles I gave them around age 6.
I received my Cosmetology license from Carroll County High School in 2006 under my very encouraging instructor, Sandra Holder. After high school, I attended Radford University. I obtained my Bachelor's in Accounting in 2010 with the intention of using it to start a salon.
During my time at Radford, I worked locally in salons and completed various trainings in advanced color, cutting, and styling with Aveda, Schwarzkopf, Aquage and Wella. I believe education makes the difference between a good service and a stellar one and that is the trademark behind CharMarie.
Makeup is another passion of mine. I am self taught and have dedicated my time to studying the art of makeup. My favorite looks are definitely glam! I also offer one on one makeup lessons to show you how to best highlight your features and offer product recommendations to fit your skin type, coloring, and needs. Beginning August of 2022, I am also offering bookings for Micrboblading, Combo Brows, Lip Blushing and other PMU Services!
My ultimate goal in opening and owning a salon is to foster the growth of my stylists and in turn, provide a salon that offers the best guest experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know. My goal is for you to be our raving fan!

I was raised in Christiansburg and have been here since 1997. I'm now living in Newport with my husband Dave, our two dogs and three cats. I offer more than 25 years of experience to my clients.
My career in hair styling began in Rochester NY, where I attended the Shear Ego International School of Hair Design. I’ve been a Redken Educator, have completed their Master Stylist and Master Colorist programs, and have attended the Redken Exchange in New York city numerous times. My education continues to this day, keeping up on new techniques and styles reflecting today’s trends.
CharMarie provides the perfect environment to allow my creativity to blossom. There is a genuine team atmosphere here that is palpable, and I’m very proud to be a member of the team. My passion for hair design began as a child, when I would give my sister makeovers and the two of us would act out scenes on our pretend stage. This passion for making individuals into their best selves remained and led me to work with legendary stylists Irving Rusk and Horst Rechelbacher (founder of Aveda). Under their guidance, I fostered a desire to transform clients by specializing in innovative cutting, styling, and color techniques. My priority is to focus on the initial consultation, to ensure that my client leaves the salon feeling confident.
It has been my privilege to work with a diverse group of clients, including the cast of Dirty Dancing, visiting personalities and performers (including a Nobel Prize-Winning Author, Artist, Poet Laureate, civil rights activists, orchestra concert master, a Grammy Award finalist and numerous actors), business owners, professors and hundreds of local clients.
Like the young man who prepared his sister for her acting roles those many years ago, my philosophy has remained the same -- we are all actors on the stage of life and to play our best roles we must look the part and feel confident. I have been in the hair industry since 2014. I grew up in a small town where I worked in a hair salon as a receptionist. I remember being mesmerized just sitting back and watching and thought I could do this all day!
A college education was important in my family so I attended CCU and received a BA in Psychology. Shortly after college, I realized that Cosmetology was my calling and I've never looked back! I attended the Paul Mitchell Academy in NC and soon after, moved to VA to be closer to family.
I started my hair journey at a salon in Pulaski County and received the Top Hairstylist Award in 2016. I enjoy creative cutting and color and my goal is to make you feel like the best version of yourself!

My passion for the beauty industry started when I was just a little girl. I grew up going to work with my mom, who's also a stylist, and eventually started working as a "shampoo girl" when I was a teenager. I always knew I eventually wanted to be a stylist and decided to study Cosmetology during my high school years in Botetourt County. I graduated and achieved my Cosmetology License in 2010, but chose to go to college at Virginia Tech where I studied Journalism and worked in a salon part time.
After 2.5 years at VT, my heart led me to pursue my dreams as a full time stylist. It was the best choice I've ever made! I love doing all things hair, but I specialize in highlighting techniques, short cuts, and formal styles. I also enjoy playing with makeup and creating a variety of looks for my guests.
I am incredibly grateful to have gained so much experience and education through working with amazing stylists over the years, as well as attending classes and hair shows. My goal is to create a custom look for each of my guests so that they feel confident and beautiful every day!

I'm Edlira but everyone calls me Lily. As seen from my name, I'm not from the United States. I'm from Albania and have also lived in Italy. In those two countries, I had the opportunity to open my own fashion business. Even if what I did in my country was mainly focused on clothes and accessories, I would always offer hair and makeup suggestions to my clients to better match their image. When I came to the US, I saw the opportunity to take classes for this other passion of styling hair. I completed my training with Salon Labell and worked as an Assistant at CharMarie. Hello beautiful! I fell in love with doing hair and makeup when I began the cosmetology program at Blacksburg High School as a young teen. I first joined the CharMarie team in 2019 as an assistant and personally assisted Charmaine who taught me many of the skills that I use today.
My passion in beauty soon became my career. I strive to better my skills every day and I enjoy learning and growing as a professional hair stylist and makeup artist. I love seeing new faces and it brings me great joy making people look and feel beautiful.

I've been doing hair since 1995. I knew around the age of 8 that this is the profession I wanted to go into. I've always wanted to please people and make them feel good about themselves. My goal is for every guest to leave with a smile on their face.
I am new to the NRV area, moving here from Missouri to be closer to family. In my free time I enjoy being with family and playing with my 3 pups. I also enjoy hearing and telling "dad" jokes. Laughter is the best medicine, aside from a great hairapy session.
